In recent years, there has been significant increase in Internet attacks, such as frauds, DDoS, viruses, worms, spyware, and malware, etc, causing huge economical and social damage. While the attack systems have become more easy-to-use, sophisticated, and powerful, interest has greatly increased in the field of building more effective, intelligent, adaptive, active and high performance defense systems which are distributed and networked. We will focus our program on issues related to Network and System Security, such as authentication, access control, availability, integrity, privacy, confidentiality, dependability and sustainability of computer networks and systems. Particularly, this year we emphasize the major themes as Multi-core Supported Network and System Security and Security in Next Generation Wireless Networks. The aim of this workshop is to provide a leading edge forum to foster interaction between researchers and developers with the network and system security communities, and to give attendees an opportunity to network with experts in academia, industry and governments. NSS 2008 will feature new results, challenging research questions, novel approaches and innovative directions in network and system security. The publications of this workshop will be IEEE Computer Society Proceedings (EI, ISTP, and INSPEC indexed). Selected best papers will be published in two Wiley InterScience journals: Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience (SCI and EI indexed, confirmed) and Security and Communication Networks (confirmed).
This workshop is sponsored and organized by IFIP, CQUniversity, Deakin University, and NPC 2008. NSS 2008 will be held in conjunction with IFIP International Conference on Network and Parallel Computing (NPC 2008) |
